Honda Accord 'could protect cheap car insurance premiums'
Motorists keen to buy a vehicle that can help them protect the competitive deal they have secured on over-50s car insurance may be impressed with the Honda Accord's performance in a recent safety assessment.

Following a series of independent crash tests carried out by Euro Ncap, the model was awarded the best possible rating.

This five-star score took into account how well the car would protect occupants and pedestrians in an accident, along with the technology it includes that could help motorists avoid collisions.

One of the innovations the vehicle includes as standard is Vehicle Stability Assist, which is intended to help the person behind the wheel stay in control of the car when making sudden manoeuvres, accelerating quickly and cornering.

In addition to this, the Accord can also be fitted with Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering and a Collision Mitigation Brake System.

Other vehicle that were recently awarded five-star safety ratings from Euro Ncap are the Toyota iQ and Mitsubishi Lancer.
