New Yaris may appeal to hard-up car insurance holders
Motorists considering downsizing in a bid to cut the amount they spend on car insurance and fuel may want to check out the latest offering from Toyota.

According to the manufacturer, the 2009 Yaris could help drivers make savings in a number of areas.

It explained its engineers had reduced the weight of the motor's transmission and engine to improve its fuel efficiency, so owners will not have to shell out as much for petrol.

Meanwhile, the vehicle's relatively small engine means people may find it qualifies for cheaper car insurance than many other vehicles on the road.

Toyota also claimed the Yaris offers impressive green credentials - with none of the variations releasing more than 120 g/km.

It added it had achieved this without being forced to compromise in other areas.

"Too often motorists are expected to make sacrifices in performance or comfort for the sake of environmental considerations," it stated.
