Car insurance customers 'should carry survival kits'
Car Insurance News - Published: 03/02/2009

Kwik-Fit suggested more motorists should carry sub-zero survival kits with them.
This comes after research for the company revealed a significant number of drivers do not carry basic supplies - even when venturing out in treacherous conditions.
According to Kwik-Fit, drivers should keep a number of items in their cars in case they find themselves stranded at the roadside in freezing temperatures.
It stated supplies such as bottled water, a spare set of winter clothing and a warm blanket could be vital for motorists waiting for a breakdown service.
David White, customer services director, said motorists also need to think whether their journey is absolutely essential.
He stated: "The ones who decide it is must ensure they have a sub-zero survival kit, should they suffer the misfortune of being held-up."
Meanwhile, Kwik-Fit recently published a 2009 calendar - which includes pictures of the worst tyres it came across in 2008 - to remind car insurance customers of the importance of regular maintenance.
