Get a Valentine's number plate, says DVLA
A new tool incorporated on to the DVLA's website enables drivers to search for the "perfect" Valentine's Day number plate, the group said today.

DVLA Personalised Registrations has created a search system whereby motorists can enter their own and their partner's details.

The gadget will then scan the entire database of number plates for something suitable, meaning it is only a few mouse clicks before a gift for February 14th is sorted.

A suggestion the organisation gave was MY09 LUV or MR09 MRS.

Marketing manager for DVLA Personalised Registrations Damian Lawson said there was always a "surge" in buying activity at this time of year when people start to purchase Valentine's gifts.

"While the regular plates featuring Xs and K155 are there to be had, the new search system ensures that extra personal touch - in a flash," he added, going on to state that one in five personalised number plates are bought as gifts.

Those with car insurance may want to remind themselves that the provider needs to know when certain changes - such as a registration - are made to a vehicle.
