Allianz Insurance has been awarded an honour from an independent industry body.

The group was voted Insurer of the Year by intermediary group Coversure Insurance services.

Speaking on behalf of the awarding body, franchise Nick Hollands explained the judges took into account a range of qualities, such as service levels, underwriting support and competitiveness of premiums.

He stated: "Allianz has clearly demonstrated a level of excellence in all of these categories."

Meanwhile, David Keel, head of market management with Allianz Retail expressed his delight at receiving the award.

He added the company strives to put its customers first.

Mr Keel concluded: "To have been recognised with this award is testament to this."

In other news Allianz Commercial recently revealed it has launched a new online legal advice service for all of its small and medium enterprise policy holders.
