Added extras 'will attract van insurance customers'
Dealers looking to tempt van insurance customers to part with their hard-earned cash for a new model may benefit from opting for "well-specified vehicles", it has been claimed.

British Car Auctions (BCA) recommended retailers choose panel vans which are ply-lined and include a side-loading door.

It explained these options could add an extra £200 to £300 to a vehicle's price, compared to standard models.

Duncan Ward, BCA's UK business development manager, commented: "When you are offering upwards of 400 vans in some of our bigger sales, you really notice how the buyers gravitate towards the best-presented, well-specified vehicles."

He stated van insurance customers looking to replace their motors tend to opt for the best models they can afford and always choose ones with added extras if they are within their budgets.

In other news, BCA recently announced it had raised nearly £5,000 during 2008 for the charity Ben - an organisation which supports those who work or have worked in the automotive industry.
