Car insurance customers 'should carry a survival kit'
Car Insurance News - Published: 07/01/2009

Research by Kwik-Fit has revealed the majority of motorists in the UK do not keep a survival kit in their vehicles, despite the fact a quarter of vehicle owners have experienced waiting for roadside assistance during winter in the past.
The poll found 21.7 million drivers do not carry extra clothing with them in their cars, while 4.3 million people do not travel with any emergency supplies at all.
David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit, commented: "Whilst most people might think it won't happen to them, our research shows that the chances of being stranded in the winter are pretty high."
In other news, Kwik-Fit recently announced it was releasing a Tyre Wall of Shame calendar to remind people keen to avoid a car insurance claim to check their tyres regularly.
