Drink-driving 'falls in Tayside'
Car Insurance News - Published: 02/01/2009

During the third week of the force's Festive Road Safety Campaign, eight people were apprehended for being over the alcohol limit and one woman was unfit to drive as a result of taking drugs.
In total, Tayside police have stopped 32 motorists for drink-driving in the first three weeks of this year's campaign down from 45 during the same period in 2007.
Chief Inspector Sandy Bowman said he was pleased there had been a fall in the number of people consuming alcohol and then getting behind the wheel.
However, he added: "I recognise that there are still irresponsible drivers out there and we must remain mindful of the cases we have dealt with during the last week."
During the second week of the initiative, officers arrested ten individuals for drink-driving, with two people around three times over the legal limit.
