Calendar 'could cut car insurance claims'
A new calendar may remind drivers about the potential consequences of failing to conduct basic vehicle maintenance and help cut car insurance claims in the UK, it has been suggested.

Kwik-Fit acknowledged its Tyre Wall of Shame collection is not as glamorous as some traditional offerings with beautiful models and exotic locations.

However, it stated the calendar it has created – with pictures of the worst tyres it came across in 2008 – is equally compelling.

David White, customer services director with Kwik-Fit, said he hoped the images would remind people how important it is to look after their cars.

"The last thing we want is to produce a Tyre Wall of Shame Calendar 2010, so we urge motorists to check their tyres regularly to avoid adding to our collection of shockers," he commented.

Earlier this year, Kwik-Fit warned drivers they could be putting themselves and other road users at risk by failing to carry out basic car maintenance and servicing.
