Family rows 'could lead to car insurance claims'
Drivers who ferry about other family members in their motors over Christmas could be risking accidents – and subsequent car insurance claims - if the findings of recent research are anything to go by.

A study by the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) revealed three in ten young motorists believe they are as likely to argue with loved ones on the road as they are around the dinner table during the festive season.

Some of those 18 to 24-year olds questioned actually admitted they deliberately brought up touchy subjects while on the move because it meant family members were unable to escape.

However, ETA advised against this kind of tactic.

Director Andrew Davis pointed out: "While family disagreements at Christmas might be as traditional as repeats on television and turkey sandwiches, rows on the road cab make driving inefficient, erratic or just plain dangerous."

In other news, ETA recently reported some Stagecoach buses are to be equipped with signs which flash if the vehicle behind is travelling too quickly or tailgating.
