Brits urged not to lie when taking out car insurance
Car Insurance News - Published: 24/12/2008

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), providers are uncovering more and more fraud cases where drivers have lied or failed to disclose important information.
The group stated one common deception involved a mother or father adding a child to a policy as an occasional driver, when in fact the son or daughter is the sole or main user of the car in question.
It also revealed a rising number of customers were neglecting to provide details of previous motoring convictions.
Nick Starling, director of general insurance and health with ABI, said: "Cheating to get cheaper insurance puts your cover in jeopardy, with potentially disastrous consequences."
He concluded: "Honesty is the only policy."
Meanwhile, ABI recently called on road safety groups to help cut the number of whiplash-related motor insurance claims.
