Van insurance customers 'will get flexibility from Ford'
Ford will offer van insurance customers more flexibility in 2009, the manufacturer has claimed.

Commenting on a range of new options which are being introduced, the company explained they had been added in order to meet the needs of as many different businesses as possible.

One addition to the line-up is the Transit double-cab utility chassis - which has been released as a special vehicle option.

The vehicle includes unglazed second-row cab doors with the rear seats taken out.

Ford also pointed out an additional option would allow buyers to combine this new cab with a panel van bulkhead, thereby creating a secure load area for valuable equipment.

Commercial vehicles director Steve Kimber said the manufacturer made changes in response to comments from customers.

He stated: "Large and small companies alike are always looking for security options, a good environment for the driver and a vehicle that is bespoke for their needs."

In related news, the manufacturer's light commercial vehicles recently won five What Van? awards.
