Brits 'should ensure home insurance covers unusual possessions'

The group said individuals should be aware that they can get cover for unusual pieces.
It stated some of the weirdest things it has heard of being insured include a crocodile skull, a £10,000 collection of meteorites, a 25 lb stuffed and mounted salmon, a magic lantern and £3,000 worth of lace bobbins.
Darren Black from Confused.com said: "Some of the more unusual items will often be more sentimental than expensive, but it is always worth protecting them from damage, as well as from theft."
He added if a particular possession is difficult to value, owners should check with the insurance company to ensure that it is not under or over-valued.
Meanwhile, Confused.com recently said people going away on extended holidays should check their home insurance is valid for the duration of their trip.
