Police plans could help cut car insurance claims in Leeds
A police campaign being launched in Leeds this week could help cut car insurance claims in the city.

Officers are planning to hand out free cloths in a bid to encourage motorists to wipe away satnav suction marks from their dashboards and windscreens.

The officer who is leading the scheme said drivers needed to pay more attention to removing every last trace of their navigation device when parking up.

Sergeant Paul Cliffe from West Yorkshire police acknowledged taking a satnav with them and wiping away marks on the windscreen could take motorists a few extra minutes.

However, added: "That is nothing against the cost and inconvenience of having your car broken into."

Officers will be giving away the free cloths on Thursday December 11th outside Morrisons in Bramley.

In other news from the area, West Yorkshire police recently launched an anti drink-drive campaign which will run over the Christmas period.
