Police take to the trains to warn of burglary threat
Home Insurance News - Published: 03/12/2008

Thames Valley police and the British Transport Police have launched Operation Locomotion which will see officers boarding trains to warn commuters about the increased risk of break-ins over the festive period.
Commenting on why the problem is likely to get worse in the coming months, Inspector Sean Hodgson, head of crime reduction, said: "Thieves really enjoy Christmas - not for the reasons most of us do - but because at this time of year thieves take advantage of any opportunity to steal Christmas presents."
However, he added people could reduce their chances of being targeted by opportunist burglars by making sure they lock windows and doors.
In other news, Bracknell police recently reported they are using huge advertising posters to remind residents in the area to be vigilant against thieves.
