Under-inflated tyres 'could lead to a car insurance claim'
Drivers who do not check their tyre pressure on a regular basis could end up having to make a car insurance claim, it has been suggested.

Haynes has highlighted research by jamjar cars which revealed 87 per cent of drivers do not carry out basic maintenance as a matter of course.

The publisher said these findings were worrying and warned people could be involved in an accident if they failed to check their tyre pressure once a week.

It added it was also important to make sure the spare tyre was inflated to the manufacturer's recommended level as well.

According to Haynes, women are particularly bad at checking tyre pressure, with many failing to do it altogether and others leaving it to another person to do.

Meanwhile, the publisher recently revealed it had released a biography of Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton to coincide with the Brit's victory in Brazil earlier this year.
