Motorists encouraged to remove valuables from view

Officers are taking down registration details of motors which are at risk and sending owners letters advising them to be more careful.
This initiative has been set up in support of Northumbria police's Don't Let Thieves Steal Your Christmas campaign.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Paterson said: "Car crime continues to fall in North Tyneside, but we want to make sure this downward trend continues."
He added people could help them by parking in well-lit areas, putting shopping in the boot, removing things like satnavs and iPods and never leaving documents or spare keys in vehicles.
In other car insurance-related news, TyreSafe recently claimed motorists could reduce their chances of having to make a claim by fitting cold weather tyres which are specially designed to deal with wintry driving conditions.
