Homeowners urged not to make it easy for thieves

They explained opportunist thieves were particularly active at this time of year.
A recent spate of burglaries in Lincolnshire has resulted in the police trying to raise awareness of the problem.
Chief Inspector Kieran English urged homeowners not to make it easy for criminals.
"We see many incidents where residents have left their home unlocked and thieves simply walk in the door," he stated.
He added: "You need to keep your door shut and preferably locked."
Securing windows was highlighted as another simple way for people to lower than chances of being a victim and having to make a home insurance claim.
Meanwhile, Lancashire police have warned residents to be on the look out for bogus caller who are operating in Warton.
