Car criminals 'come out at Christmas'
Car Insurance News - Published: 21/11/2008

According to Airedale and North Bradford police, as Christmas approaches and it starts getting darker earlier at night, thefts from motors can increase.
In order to protect themselves, motorists have been reminded to lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended.
The police also said drivers should remove any items on display to deter criminals.
In particular, shoppers were advised to avoid the temptation of leaving Christmas presents in unoccupied cars, even for a short time.
PC Dave Bale from the Airedale and North Bradford Crime Reduction Unit commented: "It only takes a few seconds to take personal valuables out of your car when you leave it and by doing so you really do reduce your risk of becoming a victim."
Meanwhile, police and partnership agencies in Wigan have announced a day of action aimed at bringing down vehicle crime in the town.
