Drivers 'don't know about drinks'
Car Insurance News - Published: 14/11/2008

A survey commissioned by portable breathalyser manufacturer AlcoSense discovered that more than 90 per cent of motorists did now know that a single pint of premium strength lager or a large glass of wine contained sufficient units to put them over the limit.
The company's chief executive officer Hunter Abbott said he was concerned about the impact the lack of knowledge could have, both after an evening in the pub and the following morning.
"People are vastly underestimating just how much alcohol they have consumed. Only four of these drinks could put you over the limit the following morning," he warned.
Anyone convicted of drink driving can expect a ban and the Association of British Insurers warns that they will face far higher car insurance premiums once their licence is returned.
