Young must be 'convinced about car insurance'

He expressed the opinion after a report published in Advanced Driving magazine revealed that 60 per cent of those convicted of driving without insurance are aged under 25.
Mr Greig is concerned that too many young drivers believe there is little chance of being caught without insurance, even though statistics show motorists in that age group are more likely to be involved in an accident.
"Young people must be convinced that the only way to drive is fully licensed and insured," he said.
Mr Greig also called on the police and courts to get tough with the "reckless minority" of young drivers who flout the law.
Driving without insurance is an offence that affects all road users, as industry estimates suggest that the average premium is £30 higher to pay for incidents involving uninsured motorists.
