Capture house burglars arrested
West Yorkshire police have arrested two burglars who they suspect broke into a capture house in Calderdale that was equipped with hidden cameras and marking fluid sprays.

Sergeant David Williams, of the Calderdale Neighbourhood Policing Team, said such properties have been successful in reducing burglaries in West Yorkshire in the past, adding: "These arrests clearly illustrate the value of the capture houses in helping us to tackle burglary."

The house, located at Turner Avenue South, is one of a number of capture houses operating in the area.

But police have warned residents to try to prevent burglaries in the first place by stepping up their security measures.

According to Detective Inspector Tony Nicholson of Calderdale CID, Calderdale is one of the safest places to live in West Yorkshire which should be good for reducing residents' home insurance premiums.

Meanwhile, police capture vehicles have also been successful in the area which has seen a 30 per cent drop in the number of car crimes over the past six months.
