Police to equip residents with car theft security
Car Insurance News - Published: 27/10/2008

The Morley Neighbourhood Policing team (NPT) will visit the 40 homes of Buttercup Way residents.
It plans to distribute crime prevention packs containing security upgrades for windows and doors, property marking equipment and a £15 discount voucher to purchase a steering wheel disklock.
Hanoi burglaries, whereby the thief breaks into a home for car keys and then steals the vehicle, are a particular priority for Morley NPT.
The team's leader Inspector Joanne O'Hare warned: "Estates and villages with strong links to main roads and motorways can be prime targets for Hanoi burglars."
Meanwhile Tracker, the UK stolen vehicle recovery service, has warned drivers to be vigilant on these increasingly darker evenings.
People have been advised to park in well-lit areas or near CCTV cameras and to ensure that entry points to vehicles are locked.
These measures could ensure that potential car insurance claims are valid.
