Students given advice from police
Home Insurance News - Published: 11/09/2008

This weekend, officers will be handing out crime prevention packs to freshers at Storthes Hall campus in Kirkburton to offer advice on keeping their possessions safe.
Students will also be able to mark their belongings with UV pens and ask police any questions they may have about security.
Inspector Nicholas Narvey, of the Kirkburton neighbourhood policing team, said: "We want students coming to Kirkburton to enjoy their time here and to start as they mean to go on."
Following a few "simple steps" ought to ensure that they can avoid putting themselves at risk of becoming victims of crime, he added.
M&S Money recently reported that the average student bedroom contains electrical items worth £718 and clothing valued at £498, home insurance customers may be interested to know.
