MK police crackdown on speeders
Car Insurance News - Published: 29/08/2008

The MK News reports the Thames Valley Police, the Safer Roads Partnership and the local council teamed up to tackle the issue of law-breaking drivers and stopped 212 in total between August 18th and 24th.
Motorists caught were given a fixed penalty notice of £60 in addition to three penalty points while those found to be travelling in excess of 50mph will be summonsed to court.
Chris Appleby, road safety sergeant, told the news provider said it was disappointing so many drivers were guilty of breaking the law and stressed the authorities will continue to tackle the problem.
"Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership, in conjunction with Thames Valley police, will continue to target such behaviour with all means at our disposal," he said.
As some drivers were issued fines and penalty points they may see their car insurance quotes increase as some providers penalise motorists caught breaking the law.
In other news, the Association of British Insurers recently stated premiums are rising as a result of the increased cost of personal injury claims.
