Cost of adding a nanny to a car insurance policy 'extortionate'
Car Insurance News - Published: 29/08/2008

Simon Lamble, product director at Confused.com, made the claim after research from the price comparison site found in some cases, putting an au pair on a policy can cost £1,405 more.
Mr Lamble claims more people are employing the services of a child carer as they continue to work and he recommends ensuring the employee is comfortable driving on the UK's roads.
"The cost of insuring a nanny or an au pair on the family car is often extortionate and not all child carers will have their own transportation," he said.
Mr Lamble added consumers should scrutinise the carer's driving history as a poor record will have an impact on premium quotes.
In other car insurance news, savings provider Cahoot has claimed people involved in a relationship can save money on the cost of their cover as a result of having a partner.
