Classic car cover 'usually limited'

Classic car cover 'usually limited'
Motorists looking to buy cover for their classic cars should understand the limitations which are often imposed on such insurance, an expert claims.

Richard Brown, the creator of the web resource Classic Car Review, makes his comments to online publication 3x24, urging drivers to conduct thorough research before choosing a product.

Many auto-insurance providers assume usage of the vehicle is more limited than a normal car, he explains.

"The average classic car insurance company allows for a cap of 2,500 miles per year driving for their insurance plans," Mr Brown claims.

Many impose limitations such as preventing the car from being used to take the owner to work, he adds.

Earlier this month, Sainsbury's Bank highlighted that during the 12 months to June, the average car insurance premium rose by almost six per cent.

A spokeswoman for the car insurance provider urged Britons to shop around in order to find the most competitive deal and save themselves some money.ADNFCR-1058-ID-18748030-ADNFCR
