Traffic wardens told to be nice
Car Insurance News - Published: 21/08/2008

The Times newspaper reports that traffic wardens employed by the council are to be told to only issue tickets as a last resort.
Motorists who manage to return to their cars while the warden is writing out their ticket may also be let off under the new proposals, the newspaper said.
Waliur Rahman, operations manager for council's parking contractor NCP services, told the Times: "Parking officers have had so much negative publicity in the past, we're trying to send out a message to motorists. It's all about the quality of our customer service."
Earlier this week, the Environmental Transport Association welcomed suggestions that councils are undercharging motorists for parking.
The association claimed parking charges can be made part of a "well-thought-out" transport policy to help the environment, car insurance customers may be interested to know.
