Car crime awareness day to highlight safety measures
Police in Peterborough are to encourage motorists to keep their vehicles safe at an awareness day on Sunday (August 17th) it has been reported, something which could have an impact on car insurance costs.

Members of the public will be tested on their ability to identify items which could prove attractive to thieves, as well as being given advice on how to reduce the chance of becoming a victim of crime, according to the Evening Telegraph.

The event will take place between 10:00BST until noon in the car park of Sainsbury's in Oxney Road before moving on to the parking lot of Homebase in Fengate until 16:00BST.

Should the residents take the police's advice on board it could help reduce the number of thefts from vehicles in the area, which may have an impact on car insurance costs as fewer claims will be made.

In other news, Walesonline.co.uk reports that a spate of burglaries has hit Cardiff recently with vehicles such as BMWs and Hondas being stolen, something which may interest those with motor insurance.
