Car insurance fraudster jailed
Car Insurance News - Published: 23/07/2008

Razi Kreedy and his gang staged 57 crashes involving expensive cars which had already been written off, the Ealing Times reports.
The criminals were exposed after the police raided several properties across Harrow in June last year, finding a Volvo which had been involved in five of the claims made.
Detectives seized insurance and banking documents from eight different houses as well as finding a Ferrari F355 convertible and two BMW X5 sports utility vehicles, which had been bought with the proceeds from their fraud, the newspaper claims.
A further six men were involved in the crash-for-cash scam and sentences varied from six month suspended to three-and-a-half year terms.
The newspaper claims this type of car insurance fraud costs the industry an estimated £2 billion a year.
Earlier this year, police in Luton charged 40 people for similar activity in which it is claimed they made more than £5.3 million.
