Lawyer warns of using a mobile while driving

Catherine Junor, from Higgs and Sons, is warning drivers they could face custodial sentences as committing such acts may be interpreted as dangerous as opposed to careless driving.
Ms Junor is advising motorists they should be vigilant at all times and never use their mobile phones at the wheel of the car, no matter how quick the call will be.
"Motorists who use mobile phones while driving could face tough sentences, as guidelines stipulate that using a mobile phone while at the wheel can now be treated as dangerous driving instead of careless," she said.
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, people driving while using a mobile phone are four times as likely to be involved in an accident as those who are not.
Recently, Allianz Insurance announced it was increasing premiums by 30 per cent for those convicted of driving while talking on the telephone.
