Home insurance could be invalid, says Confused.com

According to Confused.com, most home insurance policies allow such items to be taken out of the home and still be covered however the protection could be rendered void should such belongings be stolen as a result of the owner failing to secure them.
The site is also warning consumers claiming on their home insurance for such goods will increase the cost of cover, meaning they should take care to ensure the possessions are kept safe.
Simon Lamble, product director of Confused.com, said people planning on attending festivals this summer should shop around for the best possible cover available.
"It is important to double-check policy terms and conditions to ensure that your cover is as comprehensive as possible, by shopping around for the right deal," he stated.
Making use of facilities such as lockers will also help to protect valuable items, Mr Lamble added.
According to Tescocompare.com, people in Britain lost nearly £26 million last year by not switching home insurance provider.
