According to the company, its clients reduce accidents by more than 54 per cent as well as cutting the cost of accidents by an average of 65 per cent.
Using an in-vehicle sensor, data on more than 120 different driving manoeuvres is collected and analysed to give the motorist feedback about their driving habits and areas that could be improved.
Companies such as T-Mobile have used the equipment to improve the safety of its employees who drive and according to GreenRoad, it has seen a fall in the number of accidents its workers are involved in.
Should more vehicles incorporate this technology it could reduce the number of accidents on the road which may in turn, lead to lower insurance premiums.
In 2006, 3,712 lives were lost on Britain's roads according to Kevin Clinton, head of road safety at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
