Audi wins security awards
Motorists looking for a secure vehicle, which could prevent theft and have an effect on car insurance, may consider an Audi after the German firm won the top prize at the British Insurance Car Security Awards.

The car manufacturer took the top security award in the compact executive class with its A4 model, while the S8 was voted the most secure automobile in the performance car class.

Also winning was the company's TT roadster, which came out on top in the convertible and roadster class.

Jeremy Hicks, director of Audi UK, said the awards show the efforts the firm has gone to in order to protect owners of its vehicles from thieves.

He stated he was: "Delighted that Audi has taken the top honour for its work in countering one of the most unpleasant hazards we all face as motorists. Audi has gone to great lengths to minimise the risk of car theft".

Should vehicles be more difficult for thieves to steal it could lead to fewer insurance claims being made, which could mean cheaper cover.

In other news, MINI won the security award in the city car category.
