Glasses could 'make driving safer'
Car Insurance News - Published: 16/06/2008

What? Car believes the fact that driving glasses lenses are polarised means they remove much of the glare which causes motorists to squint on bright days.
In addition, these lenses have filters which protect the retina of the eye from ultraviolet rays which can damage a person's vision and lead to cataracts in the future, it claimed.
"As well as improving visibility, polarised lenses also reduce strain on the eyes and mean you don't need to screw up your eyes to see the road properly. All that makes driving safer and more comfortable," the magazine stated.
Sunglasses should not be worn at night to prevent headlamp glare and they should also be removed when driving from a bright light into a tunnel, according to the Eyecare Trust.
