British motorists warned to take care on foreign roads

According to a recent report from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, just under one-third have driven on the wrong side of the road while around ten per cent admitted to going around a roundabout in the wrong direction.
In addition, the research found less than half of UK residents take their driving licence and registration details with them, while around one-third carry details of their breakdown cover on them.
As a result of the findings the office is urging British drivers to make sure they have all the correct documentation with them before they leave the UK and to pay special attention to road safety.
Britons driving in a foreign country who are involved in an accident could run into problems if they do not have adequate car insurance cover.
According to MoneyExpert, car insurance policies taken out in the UK provide third-party cover when the vehicle is taken out of the country, meaning the provider covers the cost of medical bills and repair costs caused to someone else's vehicle.
