a²om and Thames Valley Police have joined forces to help young drivers who have been caught committing motoring offences by providing education and training to improve their skills and attitudes, which could impact on car insurance.

The two teams have developed a 'Young Driver Scheme' which will feature a²om's e-learning technology aimed at re-educating and rehabilitating convicted motorists and making them better drivers.

Should the scheme be successful it could help lower the cost of car insurance for this group, as fewer convictions will mean fewer penalty points and therefore lower premiums.

The technology being employed will be the a²om highway, which quizzes drivers on situations not usually covered in the standard driving test.

Prince Michael of Kent has endorsed the idea and recently visited the Thames Valley Police at Three Mile Cross, Road Policing base to see first-hand how young motorists are benefiting.
