Public invited to contribute to road safety
Members of the public are being invited to share their views and ideas on ways to improve road safety, which could reduce the number of accidents on the road and in turn result in lower car insurance premiums.

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is to hold a series of talks and seminars urging drivers to give their opinions on ways in which Britain's roads can be made less dangerous, Motors Today reports.

Beginning in Leicester on June 10th the events will provide a forum for motorists to give their views on recent government proposals to make the driving test more difficult.

Rosemary Thaw, chief executive of the DSA, believes the public's views could be beneficial to policy making and driving safety as a whole.

"The government has set out its proposals to change this system - and now it's up to you to have your say. We all use our roads in one way or another so it is important you register your view before the consultation closes," she told the website.

Should the initiative have an effect in reducing the number of road accidents then price insurance prices could come down as a result.

The DSA looks to contribute to reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on the road by 40 per cent in the age group of up to 24-year-olds.
