Over 40s could save on car insurance

Paul Baxter, from comparison site Tescocompare.com, made the claim after new research carried out by the website found the average age of a Porsche owner was 39-years-old.
Mr Baxter said he was surprised by some of the results but said motorists should shop around as much as possible for car insurance to find the most competitive deal that best suits them.
"Just because you are turning 40-years-old and want to splash out on a Porsche doesn't mean you need to pay as much for your insurance as all other Porsche drivers you should shop around to make sure you get the cheapest and most appropriate deal," he stated.
The Association of British Insurers recently introduced a new system for insuring cars, expanding the current 20 groups to 50 and taking into consideration the likely effects of damage to other vehicles a person's car would cause in the event of a crash.
