Homeowners prefer shopping for insurance online
Published: 02/05/2008

Research by Global Reviews has found that 53 per cent of shoppers searched individual websites, while 41 per cent used a search engine, Insurance Daily reports.
A further 29 per cent said they used price comparison websites to search for the best deals available.
More than half of people stated that they would look for cover over the internet.
However, the industry as a whole did not receive very positive reviews after a large number of insurers did not provide the service people were looking for and as a result, it received a 47 per cent satisfaction rating.
The researchers found that 31 per cent of those surveyed bought their previous home insurance policy via the web, while only 13 per cent did so through a branch.
Global Reviews is an independent customer experience researching company.
