'Check what is covered by your home insurance annually'
Published: 18/04/2008

According to Debra Williams, managing director of the price comparison site Confused.com, people's possessions within their home change regularly and as a result, they should check that their policy covers the different items.
She also advised consumers to decide on the level of cover they require themselves and to make the decision based on their own personal circumstances.
"The value of the contents of any home should be reviewed at least once a year. People's possessions change regularly and it is important their insurance cover accurately reflects that," Ms Williams said.
She added that customers should view house insurance as part of their "household requirements" and should judge the level of cover they need around this belief.
A German study recently predicted that storm-related insurance claims are set to rise in the coming years following increasingly high winds.
