Lying motorists' insurance could be void
Car Insurance News - Published: 17/04/2008

According to price comparison site Insurance.co.uk, 26 per cent of drivers were untruthful in a bid to save money on their premiums.
Motorists were found to lie about things such as penalty points, parking security and the distances travelled to work.
Steve Grainger, head of Insurance.co.uk, said the belief that lying to the insurer is 'victimless' is untrue and warned drivers that their cover could be void.
"Many motorists would never dream of illegally driving without insurance, but they seem to be blissfully unaware that entering inaccurate information on a motor insurance application could make their policy worthless," he said.
The figures also revealed that a third of drivers aged between 16 and 24 were untruthful to their insurance provider, more than any other age bracket, and that men were more likely to be deceitful than women.
A recent poll by Money Expert found that rising insurance costs was one reason why people are using their cars less.
