Contents insurance 'ignored'
Published: 20/03/2008

The price comparison site Confused.com revealed that a worryingly high proportion of homes are not adequately covered.
This is despite the boom in consumer spending in recent years, which has seen homes stocked with flat screen televisions, games consoles, laptops and next generation DVD players.
"By failing to insure their home contents, Britons are potentially setting themselves up for a large bill, not to mention emotional turmoil, should they be unfortunate enough to suffer any loss or damage," warned Debra Williams, managing director of Confused.com.
"By shopping around, consumers can end up saving a fortune on home insurance, but you cant put a price on peace of mind."
Confused.com notes that contents worth £40,000 can be covered for as little as £43.98 per year.
