Fuel duty rise delayed
Van Insurance News - Published: 12/03/2008

Mr Darling is widely expected to delay plans to increase duty on fuel by 2p per litre.
The increase was due to take effect in April but reports this morning suggest it will be put off for six months.
This comes on the back of rising oil prices, which have pushed petrol and diesel to record levels.
Mr Darling's concession to the motoring lobby will disappoint environmentalists, but there are expected to be a number of green measures included in the Budget.
As well as a new tax on plastic shopping bags, the chancellor is expected to slap a showroom tax on the least fuel efficient vehicles.
Such a move could increase the cost of some cars by £2,000.
