Wales and the north of England continued to face gale force winds today as the recent stormy weather swept across the country.

There is concern that power lines and transport links could be affected and that coastal areas could be at risk from flooding.

Most of Britain has been hit by the recent bad weather since the beginning of the week, with the south-west taking the worst of it on Monday.

With storms moving further north, homeowners and businesses will be bracing themselves for more damage.

As well as properties, road vehicles are also at risk with insurers with insurers expecting a rush of home and car insurance claims.
