Allianz reduces its environmental impact
Industry Insurance News - Published: 19/02/2008

The 'Environmental Champions' programme hopes to improve the all-round awareness of employees regarding energy saving and recycling.
Targets set by the company include a five per cent reduction in electricity use, a 25 per cent cut in the use of paper and an ambitious 50 per cent decrease in waste going to land fill.
Allianz is collaborating with environmental charity Global Action Plan (GAP) to audit the company's energy and waste outputs.
Mike Delany, Allianz spokesman, said: "Global Action Plan has used the information from the audits to put together a strategy to reduce our environmental impact.
"The agreed measures will be rolled out throughout the year and the results will be measured so that the company can see what progress its making."
GAP is working with so-called 'environmental champion' Allianz volunteers to check waste bins and the use of office lights throughout the day.
