Allianz Global Investors has loaded more on to its ethical investment bandwagon with the the launch of a new UK-based EcoTrend fund.

It comes hard on the heels of the success of its Global EcoTrend franchise of funds across the world.

The new fund, which went live on February 14th, is being managed by Bozena Jankowska.

Ms Jankowska, explaining the reasons behind the launch of the Eco funds, told Natural Choices magazine: "Environmental technology is big business… climate change is just one of many environmental forces driving this.

"Issues such as extreme weather conditions and general global warming are becoming more prevalent as time passes…this is leading to a new industrial revolution as companies are having to respond."
