It is anticipated that some key personnel from Chartwell's Warrington offices will be relocating into Bridge's Manchester city centre location.
They will continue to look after their existing clients with additional support from their new colleagues.
Bridge director Peter Warburton said that he was "delighted " with Chartwell's acquisition and looked forward to welcoming its employees to Manchester.
He added: ""Chartwell clients will continue to receive the high level of service they are accustomed to, and they will also benefit from the wider range of services offered by Bridge."
The last six months appear to have been a hive of activity in the north regarding commercial insurance company take-overs.
Cheshire-based Bollington bought Greystone Insurance and Altrincham-based UK Ireland Insurance Services was swallowed by AIM-listed Cobra in a £4 million deal.
