Clarity required for insurance qualifications
Industry Insurance News - Published: 19/12/2007

The so-called 'alphabet soup' debate was held between leading awarding bodies and the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC).
In an exploratory meeting they concluded that any reforms should have the public interest as a guiding light.
The consensus of opinion was that clear labelling of levels as part of the ongoing retail distribution review (RDR) was required as well as transparency in the future use of qualifications and designations.
Sandy Scott, Chartered Insurance Institute's chief executive, said: "One of the key factors arising from the retail distribution review (RDR) process is the need to clarify the qualifications and designations structure of the profession.
"This will provide clarity to the customer."
