Illegal Enfield drivers fined
Car Insurance News - Published: 13/12/2007

Drivers without car insurance, road tax or MOTs were penalised after the Highlands Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) carried out an Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) operation last week.
Learner drivers without supervision or L-plates were also targeted.
About 30 cars were checked, and a total of £320 worth of fines was handed out in one day.
Sergeant Pat Maclean, from the Highlands SNT, told the Ealing Times: "Residents have had enough of speeding and careless driving and this is the start of a new multi-faceted initiative."
One vehicle was confiscated as the driver was found to be in possession of cannabis as well as having no road tax or car insurance.
Having no legal paperwork for cars is widely seen as a growing problem due to some motorists perceiving the chance of being caught by the police as very low.
